Alane Alchorn

Alane Alchorn is a lifelong rider and horse manager who enjoys all facets of horsemanship and horse care. She began with Santa Cruz Pony Club in 1959, and rode with Casanova Hunt PC in 1966-67 when her dad was assigned on a Washington, DC, project. Alane has evented through Preliminary and shown dressage though Second Level. She also holds two California State Horsemanship Championships (lifetime awards) -- one in Combined English/Western, and the other in English 1 (jumping).

Her additional credentials include life memberships in the US Eventing Association, the United States Pony Club (USPC), and California State Horseman's Association. She is a national chief horse management judge for USPC, and recently officiated at the Kentucky Horse Park and the Virginia Horse Center.

Bridlewood and Alane are founding a new Pony Club Chapter to serve local riders. She continues to event and show her own horses and clients' horses. At her Heaven-Sent Farm in Valley Home, she produces a few high-quality Irish Sport Horse foals each year. Alane looks forward to working with the Bridlewood team to further horse sports of all types in Calaveras County.

 

 

Services and Rates

Bridlewood and Alane offer full training for event and dressage horses, as well as a range of lesson and training services for riders at all levels. Alane also heads up the Copper Valley Pony Club, a fun, active and education filled group focused on teaching its members a good, solid foundation in horsemanship. Lessons

Private (45-50 minutes): $45.00

Book of 6 privates (prepaid): $250.00

Semi-private (45-60 minutes): $30.00

Book of 6 semi-privates (prepaid): $150.00

Outside riders are invited to trailer in for lessons, with an added $20 facility fee.

Exercising or Schooling

Private 30-minute session: $25.00

Full training (monthly): $600.00

(5 sessions/week, including 2 private lessons)

Partial training (monthly) $390.00

(2 sessions/week plus 1 private lesson)

Showing and Trailer Transport

Horses in full training will be shown by mutual agreement between Alane and the Owner. Owner to pay entry and transport costs per competition. All other clients are invited to arrange for showing or transport on an as-requested basis.
